Successful Audits For East Yorkshire Chicken Business

A Yorkshire Wolds poultry company is celebrating after passing its BRCGS audit. During a recent audit, the team at Middleton on the Wolds business, Soanes Poultry gained AA grade status against Issue 9 of the BRCGS certification programme that is globally recognised as a benchmark for food safety management systems and best practice for product safety and quality.

Soanes Poultry's Head of Technical, Diana May is delighted with the news: "Congratulations to the team for the part that they have played in the successful AA grade. This result was achieved because of everyone's hard work and our constant year-on-year improvements, which means our customers can have complete confidence in all of our products."

In addition to the BRCGS success, Soanes Poultry was also awarded gold stars for four of its chicken products in the latest Great Taste Awards recently.

Soanes Poultry is a family-owned business which has been rearing and preparing chicken since 1947. It employs over 100 people and sells its chicken to butchers and independent retailers in Yorkshire and to wholesalers and catering butchers nationwide.
