Baillieston Community Care Boosted By £2,173 Donation

Baillieston Community Care has received a generous donation of £2,173 from Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust to support its innovative Care Technology Project, aimed at enhancing independent living for individuals with dementia.

Established in 1992, Baillieston Community Care has long been a vital resource for those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, degenerative illnesses, mental illness, and dementia. Their latest initiative, the Care Technology Project, focuses on integrating cutting-edge technological solutions to empower service users to maintain their independence. This includes everything from simple accessibility adjustments on personal devices to advanced tools like robotic pets designed to provide comfort and companionship.

The donation from Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust will be used to acquire additional care-at-home technologies. These technologies will be available for demonstration and trial, allowing service users and their families to experience the benefits first hand. The project also offers monthly drop-in sessions at Baillieston Community Care’s training hub, where both individuals and organisations can explore these innovative tools.

David Reilly, Chief Executive of Baillieston Community Care, expressed his heartfelt thanks:

“We are incredibly grateful to Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust for their generous donation. This contribution will significantly enhance our ability to provide innovative solutions that empower those we support to live more independent and fulfilling lives. The Trust’s support is invaluable in helping us create a safer and more supportive environment for those in our care.”

David Facenna, Corporate Culture Director at Allied Vehicles Group, also shared his thoughts on the donation:

“We are proud to support Baillieston Community Care in their efforts to use technology to help those living with dementia."

"Their work aligns with our core purpose of ‘we move people and make a difference to their lives’, and by contributing to this project, we hope to play a small part in making a big difference in the daily lives of those who need it most.”

The funds donated by Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust will go a long way in expanding the resources available at Baillieston Community Care, further enabling the organisation to provide top-notch care and support to those who need it most.
