Aldi is set to invest over £300 million in upgrading and extending existing UK stores in 2026

Aldi has recorded its best-ever Christmas, with sales of £1.65 billion (+3% vs. 2024) in the four weeks to Christmas Eve, as millions of shoppers turned to the UK’s lowest-priced supermarket to make their money go further during the festive season.

Aldi is set to continue its expansion in Scotland, with plans to invest more than £43m over the next two years, opening two new stores in Bishopbriggs and Dumbarton in 2026.

Aldi Scotland has invested £6,500 in seven local sports clubs across South Scotland as part of its annual Scottish Sport Fund initiative. 

Aldi will open 16 new stores in communities across the UK in the run up to Christmas.
