Family Business United is delighted to announce that Tracey Consiglio of The Pantry UK has been awarded a Family Business Lifetime Achievement Award.
Tracey is not someone who wants to be in the spotlight but deserves recognition for her contribution in helping create an incredible family firm that is breaking the mould within the educational food sector, making a difference to the lives of the children they feed each and every day, and creating positive food memories that these children will take with them for life.
In the words of one of her sons, and the CEO of the family firm, Luke Consiglio, “Whilst I may be the owner and the one often in the spotlight, the real secret to our success is the team behind me, and one of the most significant factors, my mother. This lifetime achievement award is more than recognition – it’s a tribute to almost 20 years of tireless commitment to both her family and our business."
"She has never sought attention, accolades, or even acknowledgement but she has been there for every milestone, every hard decision and every moment that has shaped The Pantry into what it is today," continues Luke.
From the very beginning, when the business started in a humble sandwich shop, Tracey was there every morning before the sun came up, prepping, cleaning, supporting, and doing whatever needed to be done, no matter how small or thankless the task.
When they ambitiously took on events that were far beyond their capacity at the time, she didn’t blink, she stayed late into the night, rolling up her sleeves and working until the very last guest was served and the last dish washed. She never once complained and did it out of love, out of loyalty, and out of belief in Luke and the vision he had for the business.
As Luke continues, "Perhaps the most defining moment of her support came during a very critical stage in our business journey. I had the vision, I had the drive, but I didn’t have the financial backing to grow. Without hesitation, she offered her home, the roof over her own head as collateral so I could secure the loans I needed to expand The Pantry. It was a risk that many wouldn’t dream of taking, but she never doubted me, not for a second. Her faith in my dream was unshakeable."
"She has supported every ambition I’ve ever had, every decision I’ve made, even the questionable ones with full-hearted conviction. She has never second-guessed me, even when the odds were stacked high. Behind the scenes, she has kept me grounded, kept me going, and kept our family business rooted in family values."
This award recognition shines a light on everything Tracey has done that most people have never seen, yet will resonate with many individuals and unsung heroes in family firms the length and breadth of the nation.
An amazing woman who has balanced the needs of her family and the desire to support and grow the business every step of the way. Remarkable, Inspirational and deserving of this award in so many ways.
