Pimlico Is All Lit Up For Christmas
29th October 2013 Paul Andrews
Great community event for the Christmas Lights turning on ceremony at Pimlico Plumbers!
Pimlico Plumbers, the UK’s largest independent home services company, has hosted an unforgettable night marking the official switch on of its largest ever Christmas lights display.
The evening was very well attended by staff, members of the community and their children, who all got into the festive spirit creating a feeling of joy only associated with Christmas circulating throughout.
BBC Radio and Sky TV presenter, James Whale, switched on the extravagant display, officially starting the company’s festive season.
This year the display does not only feature a large number of Christmas lights, but Pimlico’s Lambeth headquarters is also now home to a 25ft Christmas tree, numerous snowmen, two 36ft sleighs, a train of equally impressive stature, and to top it all off, a pair of snow-making Santa Clauses!
With Father Christmas himself was in attendance, along with carol singers, mulled wine, hot soup, mini burgers and hot dogs, the switch on was a fantastic evening, thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by all in attendance.
As well as starting the company’s festive season, Pimlico’s owner, Charlie Mullins, used the switch on to celebrate the end of recession and the growth of the UK economy, especially after the recent growth in GDP by 0.8% that presented some welcome acknowledgement of the efforts of the nation’s private businesses.
Charlie Mullins, founder of Pimlico Plumbers, said: “If you haven’t already noticed, Christmas is my favorite time of the year. Switching on the lights this early means I get to enjoy it for longer!"
“Nights like this are what Christmas is all about, the local community came together and really enjoyed themselves."
“The turnout was great and would like to thank everyone who came and celebrated with us for making the evening so enjoyable.”
