About Ercol Furniture Limited

Making furniture that iswell designed and made in a good working environment by craftsmen who really take pride in their jobs.

ercol was founded in 1920 by a young Italian immigrant, Lucian Ercolani, whose simple goal was to make furniture that was well designed and made in a good working environment by craftsmen who really took pride in their jobs.

Design has always been at the heart of ercol – design for comfort, design for function, design for beauty. As well as our in-house design team based in Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire, we commission some of the best in British design talent, to bring you some outstanding furniture. Our designs constantly evolve to reflect how you live today, whilst continuing to reflect ercol’s quality and craftsmanship. Practicality as well as looks, be it in the capacious storage of our sideboards and bedroom furniture, our ranges of occasional furniture catering for today’s electronics and lifestyles, the flexibility of our extending dining tables, the comfort of our upholstery, or the smooth movement of our recliners.

Our ash and elm ranges are available in a choice of timber finishes and with our upholstery you can chose from over a hundred different fabrics, or we’ll even make your suite using your own fabric. Alternatively you can chose from one of our oak ranges finished simply with a protective clear lacquer, to showcase this beautiful timber.

A great British company, ercol’s designs are made in our state of the art, purpose built factory in Buckinghamshire and by ercol’s manufacturing partners across the globe.

Caring for the environment comes naturally to ercol, with our energy efficient factory with its biomass boiler fuelled by our wood waste, our avoidance of solvent based finishes, in favour of more environmentally friendly water based finishes, and of course in the use of sustainable timber to make our furniture.
