Company Description

We are proud of the support Mazars provide to family members in all aspects of their business dealings and help them achieve business, family and personal objectives.  Our team of specialists in the family arena have a personal, collaborative approach to dealing with a family's business and personal needs.  Mazars have a comprehensive range of services delivered to our family clients in entrepreneurial businesses and SME's, covering audit, accounting, tax, private client and advisory services.

I have worked with family businesses for my entire 30 years under one guise or another. Training as an accountant and developing advisory skills to help businesses has been a key part of my career. In the early 2000s I developed an interest in understanding the relationships within families needed to be able to provide advice and support. This helped me reach the conclusion that it’s not always advice that is required, but support in facilitating family discussions for family members to reach their own decisions and consensus among themselves.

I completed a PGC in Family Business Advice, back at University, leading me to consider my own family, not just now, but researching what happened to my father’s family business. Some interesting stories and close relatives that even he was unaware of.

Putting all this together helps me advise families with how they engage with their business. This involves a wide range of activities including, ownership succession planning, facilitating preparation of family constitutions and helping with management transition from one generation to the next. This is done in a variety of ways from single projects to regular quarterly meetings covering all aspects of the family business, sometimes even accounting.
