Success For Family Business Apprentice!

Bagnalls Apprentice Wins Johnstone's Young Painter of the Year Competition

Joel a third year apprentice at family firm Bagnalls was selected as Johnstone's Young Painter of the Year. The finalists had to undertake a number of tasks in front of an audience of fellow professional painters and decorators, at the National Painting and Decorating Show, held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Joel achieved his place in the final following regional heats which were held across the country, earlier in the year.

Each apprentice had to demonstrate their painting and decorating skills, including setting out a design, applying different types of Johnstone's Trade Paints and using various application tools and equipment. The competition, launched in 2005, has grown year on year, with this year’s competition allowing the apprentices to demonstrate that our industry is still committed to training and skill development.

The National Painting and Decorating Show is the biggest annual trade show event in the UK painting and decorating industry’s calendar and showcases the very latest ideas and innovations in painting and application technology from both UK and overseas manufacturers.

Congratulations Joel!
