Reynolds Helps To Educate Essex School Kids

14th April 2014 Paul Andrews

Students at Passmores Academy in Essex benefitted from fruit and veg knowledge and culinary experience in a talk from Ian Nottage from Reynolds.

The Food Development Team at Reynolds recently visited the year 10 students at Passmores Academy in Essex, where Ian Nottage, Chef Director for Reynolds, shared his fruit and veg knowledge and culinary experience.

To assist with their GSCE coursework of preparing their own dishes, Reynolds was pleased to provide the students with a range of locally sourced and exotic fresh produce, with a particular focus on seasonality and taste. Some feedback received on the day was that the students were more than keen to taste the variety on offer.

Georgina Shirley, Head of the Catering Department at Passmores added: "The Reynolds visit has inspired many of the students to try different, less well known fruits and vegetables and this in turn has encouraged them to include such varieties in their own dishes, which will support their first GCSE coursework project. The kids definitely got a lot from it."
