Over 600 Charities Benefit!
13th March 2017 Paul Andrews
In 2016, Pentland’s partnership with In Kind Direct meant that 636 charities benefitted from Pentland products – helping communities across the UK to lead healthier more active lives.
In Kind Direct redistributes surplus and sample products to those in need. During 2016, Berghaus, Mitre Prostar, Ellesse, Kickers and Boxfresh donated jackets, footballs, shoes and sports clothing to support a range of causes – from homeless charities to children’s project and youth groups.
Among those benefiting were:
- 1st Ightham Scouts, a thriving group for 10-14 year olds in Kent, which offers a variety of activities including sailing, canoeing and climbing. The group are making good use of their Berghaus jackets.
- Complete Kidz, a Birmingham based charity that supports children and young people. Their donations from Berghaus, Kickers and Ellesse have been used at their after school clubs.
- Making Communities Work and Grow, a support service for people aged 8 to 21 in London. They’re using donations from Berghaus, Ellesse Kickers and Mitre Prostar, to help children in the area reach their full potential.
- Street Souls, part of The Coombe Trust Fund, who have provided Berghaus jackets to homeless people in the Westminster area in London.
James Reid, Scout Leader at 1st Ingham Scouts, says: “We receive a great range of goods we otherwise could not afford and it enables us to secure more goods as our budget now goes much further.”
David Coombe, CEO of Street Souls, says: “We could never have afforded the quantity and quality of the products we can get from you; literally hundreds of the people we support would suffer with out In Kind Direct’s fantastic support.”
