Outstanding Leadership At Beaverbrooks
4th August 2016 Paul Andrews
Beaverbrooks’ CEO, Anna Blackburn, has been named among the North West’s top 20 business women, in recognition of her outstanding leadership skills.
This is the first time Anna has featured in the prestigious ‘Top 100 Women in Business’ list, making a new entry straight in at number 14.
Compiled by leading business publication, The North West Business Insider, the list highlights the strength and skills of female business leaders who are doing great things across the region.
Speaking about her top 20 achievement, Anna commented: “When I found out I was speechless, which is a rarity for me! There are so many successful and highly influential women in business who are doing great things for the wider business community and it’s a real honour to be named alongside them.”
Anna joined Beaverbrooks as a graduate trainee in 1998 and fifteen years later she was appointed CEO, achieving two firsts for the 97 year-old family business: the first female CEO and the first non-family CEO.
Having worked her way up through the business and with such a successful story to tell, Anna was recently invited to speak about her leadership style at The National Association Jewellers (NAJ) Executive Development Forum (EDF) Congress 2016, where she talked about the importance of being a role model and genuinely caring about people.
Anna continued: “Caring passionately about what you do and the team you work with is infectious and builds a culture that delivers success and is enjoyable too,” said Anna. “Role modelling and leading by example is also a crucial part of Beaverbrooks’ culture and this has to come from the top.”
Beaverbrooks was recently named ‘Retailer of the Year’ (six stores or more) at The UK Jewellery Awards for its exceptional customer service, alongside the jeweller’s commitment to its people. The company has also featured in The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For list for 13 years and has consistently achieved high levels of employee engagement from the entire business.
Beaverbrooks is an award winning family-owned jewellers established in 1919 with 68 stores across the UK, providing exceptional quality diamonds, jewellery and watches. For further information please visit www.beaverbrooks.co.uk
