Family business and recycling specialists Leo Group make a donation to help Black Dyke reach the 2015 European Brass Band Championships
Recycling and green energy specialist, Leo Group Ltd, showed its support to the Black Dyke Band’s fundraising appeal this week. The Queensbury based band is currently raising money to fly its thirty-nine member strong team to Freiburg, Germany to enter the European Brass Band Championships 2015, a competition the band has won a record twelve times!
The European Brass Band Championships sees eleven of Europe’s top bands representing their respective countries. The Black Dyke Band is currently raising money to cover travel and hotel costs so they can enter the event in May 2015. A £1,000 donation from Leo Group’s Community Fund will help the band reach its ambitious fundraising target.
On Thursday 15 January 2015, Leo Group’s PR and Communications Manager, Melanie Rosser, presented the band with a cheque for £1,000 at a rehearsal session at the band’s Queensbury headquarters.
Black Dyke Band spokesman Paul Billing said: "We are very grateful to locally based Leo Group Ltd for supporting our fundraising efforts for the band's trip to the 2015 European Brass Band Championships in Germany.”
Leo Group is at the forefront of the recycling and green energy sectors. The company employs more than 430 people across its 10 UK sites, including its Swalesmoor Road head office near Queensbury.
