Coprovide for mechanical and engineering services
NG Bailey’s Engineering division has been awarded a contract to provide the mechanical and electrical services to the new AMRC Training Centre at the University of Sheffield.
Working alongside main contractor, Willmott Dixon, NG Bailey will design and install mechanical and electrical services to the building, including an electrically-driven heating and cooling design solution to maximise the use of the university’s wind turbine power infrastructure.
Working collaboratively with the Engineering team, NG Bailey’s IT Services division has also been contracted to install all of the structured cabling in the building and the company’s Offsite Manufacture division will be providing bespoke, prefabricated brackets for the project, saving time and money on site.
Mike Darlington, joint managing director of the Engineering division, said: “This is an exciting and challenging project and one which allows us to demonstrate our skills and expertise in building services. Our ability to work collaboratively and provide a wide range of services, sets us apart from the rest and makes us the ideal provider for jobs of this nature."
“We are thrilled to have been awarded this contract and look forward to working with Willmott Dixon and the University of Sheffield going forward.”
Once complete, the AMRC Training Centre will provide training in the practical and academic skills that manufacturing companies need to compete globally, from apprenticeship through to doctorate and MBA level.
The centre will focus on high-level apprentice training, concentrating on sectors such as aerospace, energy and Formula One
The building is due for completion in December 2013 in line with the apprentice enrolment dates.
